I am accountable for the strategic and operational delivery of a £75m, 600+ worker Contingent Worker Programme in the UK and RoI for SSE Group, including the management of the Managed Service Provider and the associated contract.


My main accountabilities include but are not limited to;


  • Ensuring all relevant compliance, governance and legislation is adhered through ensuring appropriate audits are conducted, including vetting and verification and AWR.
  • Ensuring the contingent worker population is paid correctly and in accordance to contractual requirements.
  • Identifying and promoting opportunities for continuous improvement that will ensure the ongoing growth of the programme in line with business requirements.
  • Educating and supporting stakeholders in the correct classification of workers in order to meet business demand plans and remain compliant with SSE Group Tax Policies.
  • Cost savings realisation
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure successful utilisation of programme
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable contract agreements.
  • Conducting regular reviews of supplier performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing data, reporting and strategic value add programme/market insights to stakeholders to enable key decision making.
  • Ensuring MSP has the correct level of skill and capability, in both team and suppliers, to ensure successful delivery of programme in line with group requirements

Throughout my time as Resourcing Consultant, I partnered with and provided Consultative support to the majority of SSE’s main business areas, such as Retail, Transmission, Distribution, Thermal and most recently Renewables to name a few.


My main accountabilities included but were not limited to;


  • Partnering with the business and Hiring Managers to identify the most effective strategic approach to aid effective workforce planning.
  • Proactively creating and utilising talent pooling and early candidate engagement to aid the fulfilment of business requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Managing the full end to end recruitment process, providing consultative advice and guidance to the business and hiring managers on all stages of the process, ensuring it is fair, transparent and inclusive.
  • Ensuring 100% Data integrity across multiple platforms, in line with company risk and compliance obligations.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, enhancing attraction strategies, engagement, and onboarding processes for both the business, Hiring Managers, and candidates.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the candidate market, competitor awareness and activities through the utilisation of various channels such as LinkedIn, networking events, online training sessions and virtual/in person seminars.
  • Act as a single point of contact for other members of the team, providing required support, advise and sharing best practice.
  • Ensuring our marketing approach and candidate interaction aligns with the Group and Business requirements regarding equality, gender diversity, sustainability and cost.
  • Building and maintaining strong and positive stakeholder relationships, up to Director level, through effective communication, negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution, professionalism and trust.
  • Identify opportunities to create impactful and engaging advertising material. Working alongside our Marketing Team to drive innovation and fully utilise all technology available to attract top talent and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Managing performance deliverables through effective monitoring of key KPI’s, providing quality reporting and insights to identify and drive improvement.
  • Identifying, engaging and managing 1st tier agency suppliers. Building strong relationships ensuring clear communication, adherence to process, and delivery standards are met in line with agreed contracts.
