Regional Marketing & Fundraising Manager

Volunteering Matters

  • I was employed in the West Midlands regional team of a national charity. My role focused on developing and implementing a regional marketing and fundraising strategy. The overall focus was to recruit volunteers, generate income for the region and to develop strong stakeholder relationships. I carried out many marketing campaigns, developed strategic links within the region, negotiated with the media for coverage, developed a database and managed several projects funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This role required me to work on my own initiative without supervision, to be very organised and work effectively to tight deadlines and to work on several projects at one time. This role was very hands on and I gained excellent management experience as a result. I fundraised through Corporate partnerships, Charitable Trusts and government funding. Another aspect of my role was to develop new projects for the region which included networking, meetings, presentations and organising events for potential stakeholders. I frequently covered for the Regional Director during any leave.
