After my studies I settled down in the UK and worked on my language skills and being part of the
community I believe that education is a big part of life and when the opportunity arose, I studied
further and had the opportunity to qualify for my level 2 and level 3 Supporting teaching and
learning via City College
No two days are ever the same within a school environment, which makes each day a new
experience My language skills can benefit the school as I can speak Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic and
English
I strongly believe that aiding children through this experience is crucial in making sure they feel
secure and have the necessary skills needed to guide them to be the best version of themselves I
have worked within KS1 to KS3 over the span of 6 years
To me, being a teaching assistant is more than just helping the kids learn, as I found myself
learning from them too From building patience to appreciating the smaller things in life and learning
about different cultures
As a mum of 4, I have also come to the realisation that every child is different and that you need to
constantly adapt to their different behaviours and mindsets - and this is a skill which I believe is
needed within a teaching assistant as you will be working along-side students and teachers with
different educational abilities and characters
I believe I work well with others and take pride in my classroom management From maintaining a
clean environment, resource management and getting the class ready for the subject that will be
taught
I am proactive in working in the class environment - checking with class leads on what needs to be
done and planning ahead to get ready for lessons
I had the opportunity to become an unqualified class teacher and spent 3 years teaching
mathematics to years 3-8 (KS2 and KS3) One of those years included virtual teaching through
zoom, during the covid-19 pandemic lockdown
The pandemic helped me see how much I valued working and spending my time within a school
environment and how much it also affects children’s well-being and ability to socialise A school’s
social environment should be a healthy one - one where children can express their interests with
one another and form long-lasting friendships as well as learning to get along with people with
different character and personality traits (which is necessary for social growth)
I continued teaching maths in person once the lockdown restrictions had been lifted up until
September 2022, which is when I started maternity leave Since then, I haven’t had the opportunity
GDPR May 18
to get back into doing what I treasure, until now I am hoping to quickly merge into working in a
school so I can continue to help guide children through the luxury of education, and help them grow
into strong individuals, who I hope will have every success in life
I believe I have the skills and mind set to work alongside existing staff at Bassett and use my skills
to make a difference
