After a year as a staircasing consultant wherein I banked £20m in my first year at the firm leading to a record breaking year for the staircasing team, beating the previous target by 7 Million, I was promoted to be the senior consultant of the Resales team.

My duties now includes:

The opportunity to work for a housing association, and also learn about the Shared Ownership scheme seemed very appealing, as I am well versed in dealing with HTB and sales of open Market properties. I have however never had prior exposure to the shared Ownership scheme and therefore decided to take a step back on my career from Senior position in order to aid my understanding of the shared ownership scheme

My day to day duties at MTVH included:

  • Handling leaseholder enquiries (by phone, email, post) in a professional and supportive manner, displaying shared ownership product knowledge
  • Calling leaseholders to explain the benefits of staircasing and explore whether they would like to initiate the staircasing process to buy additional shares or become outright owners
  • Read and interpret leases and give effective advice to customers and other key internal and external stakeholders regarding all Staircasing activities
  • Weekly meetings with Pennington's Solicitors (our solicitors) to provide management packs, answers to queries raised by leaseholder solicitors, and general update on cases, so that I can ascertain who to speak with to expedite the conveyancing process
  • Log all customer contacts, maintaining accurate records using the appropriate database and case management systems
  • Collate audit compliant application packs, carry out relevant checks on shared owners if cash sums to be used and follow anti-money laundering procedures
  • Carry out relevant checks and effectively manage all staircasing case-load and help to achieve or exceed the staircasing targets, which for this financial year is £43 million- I have contributed 4.3 Million in 3 months work and completed on 17 staircasing deals so far
