A Level Economics and Business have provided me with a strong foundation for Accounting and Finance. They have helped me to understand how individuals, firms and markets respond to economic changes, and how financial decision-making directly influences business success. Topics like inflation, interest rates and market structures showed me how external economic forces determine internal operations and strategic choices. In Economics, I developed skills in data analysis, interpreting graphs and applying theory to real-life situations—core skills in finance and management. Business taught me the value of financial planning, operations, and leadership. I particularly enjoyed analysing how firms respond to financial pressures using tools such as investment appraisal and budgeting. These experiences have sharpened my logical thinking and strengthened my ability to solve problems using evidence and strategy. These subjects have provided a solid foundation and helped me build the analytical mindset, confidence, and problem-solving skills needed for a future in business and finance. Alongside this I attended a PwC virtual event with Young professionals where I learnt about the industry, what to expect and potential opportunities, providing me with valuable insight into the future prospects.
