Role Purpose

To lead, manage, and develop all aspects of the club’s gymnastics programme, ensuring high-quality coaching, athlete development, staff performance, member satisfaction, and sustainable growth across all disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Development

• Manage the day-to-day gymnastics operations of the club.
• Act as the lead professional and guiding force for all coaching activities.
• Establish and promote the club’s purpose, core values, and long-term strategic goals.
• Shape and communicate a clear mission that promotes fitness, competitive excellence, and a lifelong love of gymnastics.
• Ensure all programmes align with the club’s development plan and vision.

Coaching Staff Management

• Oversee, manage, and support all coaching staff.
• Provide regular feedback, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
• Set clear objectives and conduct performance reviews.
• Adjust staffing levels, schedules, and working hours in line with programme needs.
• Coordinate internal and external training, courses, and CPD opportunities.
• Foster a positive, supportive team culture and strong working relationships.

Gymnast Development & Coaching

• Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive coaching programmes.
• Oversee planning and delivery for all departments.
• Monitor gymnast progress, set individual goals, and review performance.
• Analyse performance data to identify strengths and areas for development.
• Lead talent identification across allocated disciplines.
• Support sustainable participation pathways at Club, County, Regional, and National levels.

Communication & Collaboration

• Act as a key point of contact for parents, addressing concerns professionally and positively.
• Promote open and effective communication between coaches, gymnasts, and parents.
• Clearly communicate the club’s vision, goals, and expectations.
• Encourage and gather feedback to assess and improve programme quality.

Events & Programmes

• Plan, organise, and deliver club events and competitions.
• Develop and oversee additional programmes such as camps, clinics, and workshops.

Business Development & Revenue Generation

• Develop partnerships with schools and other clubs.
• Plan and deliver open days and promotional events to attract new members.
• Monitor membership numbers to maximise participation and revenue.
• Identify and develop additional income streams such as clinics, workshops, and camps.

Community Engagement & Funding

• Build relationships within the local community.
• Seek grants and funding opportunities to support club development.
• Strengthen school and club partnership programmes.

Achievements

• Personal coach Isabelle Priestley – British Vault Champion 2024 & 2025, GB Team selection April 2024 at the Junior European Championships, Rimini 2024, Isabelle placed 6th in the Vault Final
• Isabelle Priestley selected for the England Squad – 2022
• Isabelle Priestley and Shannon Baker selected for England Squad 2023
• Isabelle Priestley, Team 6th position – Olympic Hopes, Czech Republic - November 2022
• One gymnast selection for Great Britain National Squad – 2024
• Two gymnasts selected for the England Squad and two reserves for the GB National Squad – 2025
• Represented England Team at the Leverkusen Cup with Shannon Baker, Team 5th – 2023
• Attended the Caledonia International with Isabelle Priestley March 2024 for England Squad selection. Team gold medal, all around Bronze medal and Gold on Vault.
• England Team representation with Lyla Terry, Horizon Cup – November 2025. Gold team medal and apparatus medals were achieved

• Plan and implement programme of training & competition for allocated gymnasts / squads in line with long term objectives in the Men's Artistic Squad
• Monitor the day to day management of coaching staff and gymnastics activities
• Plan and implement programme of training & competition for allocated gymnasts / squads in line with long term objectives in the Women's Artistic Squad 2016 -2017
• Support, mentor and monitor development of coaches
• Work with other Heads of Department and Director of Coaching to support the general running and development of the club
• Identify and co-ordinate platforms for learning and development
• Carry out administrative tasks associated with role and maintain all necessary records
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of Club & British Gymnastics policies and procedures
• Develop effective & supportive relationships with colleagues, demonstrating a sense of team spirit
• Support and assist with the development of a sustainable platform for participation at all levels of the allocated discipline(s) at club, county and regional levels
• Leader of British Gymnastics Development Pathway for South East Region
• Attended GB National Camps at Foundation, Development and Junior levels at the National Sports Centre, Lilleshall
• Experience of working alongside National Coaches for more than 15 years
