I am currently studying Wildlife Conservation and Animal Biology at Canterbury College (HND) and have Applied for (BsC) top up next year.
I have a great passion for wildlife and a real drive to share that with others. I have worked at maidenhead aquatics for the last 4 years and provided excellent and trustworthy advice to individuals who have needed it, this has made me great at forming a connection with people in a short amount of time. In December 2023 as mentioned briefly before I went on expedition to South Africa which I immensely enjoyed, whilst there was others struggling, I was there to provide support for them. I love working in a team and talking to people with similar interests truly sparks my passion. Having 2 very energetic dogs I'm in the woods a lot and love to observe what's going on around me.
With a friendly and approachable nature, I would thrive in providing engaging and informative education Always happy to help, I create a welcoming environment for people around me, I would ensure they leave with a deeper appreciation for wildlife My strong knowledge of a variety of animal species, combined with my trustworthiness, efficiency, and confidence, allows me to deliver accurate and captivating information Patience and understanding are at the heart of my approach, making me an excellent communicator for all ages My experiences in South Africa broadened my cultural and animal expertise, while my ecological surveys and welfare audits at Wildwood have given me an existing understanding of the park's operations and conservation efforts I am very quick leaner and can get the hold of new things well I have great initiative meaning I can work well independently or as a part of a team
During my studies at Canterbury College I have covered a wide range of modules such as Conservation, Animal Welfare, Animal Nursing, Global Biodiversity and Breeding and Genetics. This has given me a great amount knowledge in the field. The modules in my degree have also given me exposure to risk assessments, wildlife surveying, welfare audits and my personal favourite presenting my research to others.
Educating at all levels is crucial in raising awareness of the plight of British wildlife because it ensures that people of all ages and backgrounds understand the challenges facing our native species. From children learning about the importance of hedgehog-friendly gardens to policymakers recognizing the need for stronger conservation laws, education fosters a culture of responsibility and action. By spreading knowledge in schools, communities, and online, we can inspire positive changes in attitudes and behaviours, ultimately helping to protect and restore the natural habitats that British wildlife depends on for survival. I would love to be a part of this very important role. I would provide an amazing experience for the guests therefore hopefully bringing in more revenue for the amazing things wildwood does.
