I have been working with South Lanarkshire Council for over three years now.
In my current position as a receptionist at one of the busiest leisure centres in South Lanarkshire, I act as the first point of contact for all customers.
My wide range of duties include managing the centres bookings, processing membership applications and ensuring the centre reaches its KPI’s.
This role has reinforced the importance of providing exceptional customer service in a quick and efficient manner.
The role of a receptionist also highlights to me the value of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers and staff alike.
As front of house, I find genuine enjoyment and purpose in greeting and speaking to all customers and I am more than happy to work through any issues or concerns they may face.
This allows me to think on my feet and furthers my problem-solving abilities.
Overall, in this role I have gained significant experience in a fast-paced environment where each shift is unique and brings forward different challenges.
I have also created strong customer and colleague relationships and enjoy welcoming the new and regular visitors to the centre and furthering my connection with a local area.
