Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. Most of my time had been previously dedicated to my favourite hobby;. I really enjoy working with adults and building a rapport with them. Learning has improved my confidence and made me more outgoing, I am not afraid of publicly addressing a group of people. It has similarities to my job, both have taught me to appreciate people as individuals and be patient and understanding with them. All this attribute built up while I stated working in December 2013 at Tameside and Glossop General Hospital NHS as Health care assistant.
Being on a hospital ward has made me to be determined to acquire the necessary qualifications needed to go for a nursing course since I have realised that being a nurse would open more doors for me, broaden my horizon and make me more fulfilled through getting a more rewarding job. This has made me to become more committed in my job as a Health Care Assistant because I have a goal which I am determined to achieve.
In 2019 I started my nursing degree career as well as continue working as part time health care assistant to buildup my knowledge.
In 2022 when I finished my nursing degree, I resigned from Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust as Health care assistant and got job to join Stepping Hill hospital team in December 2022 as Registered Nurse.
Working as part of a team to offer support, both physically and mentally to all patients from diagnosis, transitional from surgery and continually throughout their treatment plan has made me improve on my nursing career.
The acute setting can sometimes be very challenging but is very rewarding.
In my 8months of experience in the acute care unit after my three-year training, I had the opportunity to work in acute wards and during my placement, I had the chance to work in orthopaedic units while doing my placement. I felt accepted by the excellent work, care, and compassion; finally, my emotional and mental health well-being were well cared for.
In September 2023, I joined Medsol Group as an agency worker up till now.
In May 2024, I joined Alcedo Care Group a complex registered Nurse. I was trained to special in care of client who may be copping with chronic multiple conditions. Then in September, 2024 Alcedo Care Group transfer me to Apollo Home Health care where I continued has a Complex registered Nurse up till today.
Therefore, I would like to be part of a team that will benefit me and promote my confidence during my transition period.
