  • Frequent repertoire turnover meant sight-reading advanced hugely within this year
  • With only 2-4 Altos (employed back-row and myself as the only alto scholar) the job involved many solos, many opportunities to advance my technique, a lot of exposure, and a necessity to utilise my strong voice)
  • With so much exposure, reliable sight-reading and good intonation was demanded
  • Guiding the boy and girl choristers during rehearsals and putting a stop to any bad behaviour during services
  • Lots of extra services, such as funerals and christenings, Christmas and the installation of the 10th bishop of portsmouth.
