Teaching Religious Studies can be very fascinating, and holding on to the values and precepts it teaches opens our eyes to the sanctity of life and hence calls us to treat others with care, compassion, and empathy.
The rudiments of religious teachings discourage inhumane activities against fellow humans and even against all other living things. It calls for mutual respect among people of different races, cultures, religions, and genders.
Religion teaches us to care for the needy and the vulnerable in our society. As we strive to be perfect before our creator, we draw closer to a greater and higher position of competence in all our doings. We are not forced to do the right things at the right time.
Religion is a caring phenomenon, even though many have used it as a weapon of destruction.

I have my roots in a very strong moral family background. My family's religion is Christianity. We love God, keep his commandments, and also love our neighbours as ourselves.
I grew up in the communities of Christian faithfuls, from where I learnt the enduring values of being compassionate, caring for the needy, and assisting those with mental impairments or physical limitations to manage everyday tasks and activities. Through the various church organisations, which I joined, like the evangelism team, I teamed up with other members in providing companionship and direct assistance to the impaired, disabled, and elderly people in society.
All these, coupled with my educational background in religious studies, open my eyes to see the needed care for the weak and vulnerable in our society.
