I'm a driven professional with a strong foundation in administration, research support, and human resources, and a real passion for global development and policy work. Through my experience in education and my research on child mothers' education in Uganda, I've really grown committed to using evidence and collaboration to drive positive change. I bring strong analytical skills, a global perspective, and a genuine drive to help shape effective, inclusive solutions whether in development, policy, or research settings
During my time as a volunteer research assistant at FORWARD UK—an organisation dedicated to promoting the rights and wellbeing of African women and girls—I had the opportunity to contribute to important advocacy and policy research.
My primary task involved supporting the development of a research-based proposal essay focused on forced child marriage in Uganda and the East African region.
This involved: Conducting background research on the prevalence, root causes, and legal frameworks surrounding child marriage in Uganda and neighbouring countries.
Reviewing international human rights instruments and regional policies related to child protection and girls' education.
Analysing data from NGOs, UN reports, and academic literature to inform evidence-based recommendations.
Drafting key sections of a proposal essay highlighting the socio-cultural, economic, and legal challenges surrounding child marriage in East Africa.
Exploring models of good practice, including community-based interventions and education-focused initiatives, that can help address the issue. Collaborating with senior researchers and receiving feedback to refine the structure and content of the draft.
