I feel that I have gained lots of skills from the experiences so far in my life. For example; playing for a football team has enabled me to practice numerous skills including communication skills and teamwork and consistently demonstrating respect and kindness in all interactions. Another experience that helped shape my skills was becoming a referee for the Cumberland FA. When being a referee you naturally pick up skills including patience, listening and making decisions under pressure. I need the ability to back myself and my decisions, and I believe I demonstrate this well. The skills I have learned will help me throughout my life and hopefully help me create a positive environment for myself and others in the world of work.
I began my work experience with Morgan Sindall in an office based environment, where in teams of five we learned and demonstrated how to work together in order to come up with a plan on how we can create a flood defence system for a neighbouring town. I thought the experience was fun and interesting and gave me lots of insight into a work based environment, as I was only fourteen at the time, so that alone was very new to me.

An upcoming achievement that I’m proud of is that I was selected to be one of the officials in a league cup final fixture to be held this month.
I was recently awarded English language progress student of the term at school. This made me proud because i have been putting a lot of effort into my English studies. Having dyslexia can feel challenging at times and this award reminded me that hard work pays off.
