Lead the delivery of clinical quality assurance across the Bootle operational area, ensuring compliance with Maixmus and DWP standards through audit, case review, and performance management. Conduct clinical audits, analyse performance trends, and work closely with other areas to drive continuous improvement and consistency in quality. Coach and support Healthcare Professionals and Clinical Standards Practitioners to improve audit performance and report quality, providing guidance on achieving A-grade standards and embedding best practice. Navigate ongoing challenges relating to underperformance against key targets and variances between internal and external audit outcomes, implementing targeted coaching, performance improvement plans, and process improvements to address gaps and enhance overall quality and consistency. Worked in a quality assurance role for over two years, auditing medical reports to ensure compliance with DWP standards. Liaised with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, delivered feedback, and provided training to improve report quality and practitioner performance. Analysed data to identify risks and implemented action plans to meet audit and performance targets.

Progressed to the Remote Assessment Division (RAD) at its inception, contributing to the development of new ways of working within a fully remote model. Identified early training gaps and developed a structured Stage 3 framework to improve consistency, later adopted more widely across remote and hybrid teams.

Recognised for strong performance and selected as the only CaSTA-trained Clinical Standards Lead within RAD, supporting peer quality assurance and ensuring audit consistency.

Managed and coached healthcare professionals from induction to DWP approval, supporting performance, development, and wellbeing within a fast-paced environment. Oversaw a team of 22 HPs, driving high standards, continuous improvement, and effective remote team management.

The role involved assessing a wide range of peoples physical and mental health needs through informal observations and clinical examinations to allow me to give my expert opinion on their capability to carry out work or work related activities. The clinical examinations include a physical examination, observing and documenting the client’s vital signs and appearance and if required a neurological examination. During my time as a disability assessor, I was also trained in stage 3, paper based assessments and audit. I also was trained to deliver training to the wider team to ensure they continue with their medical education. I continue to carry out telephone assessment within my Quality Assurance Lead now as I believe it is crucial to maintain these skills.

Provided high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities included administering medication, monitoring vital signs, completing care plans, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, supported multiple areas including Intensive Care, Elderly Medicine, and Accident & Emergency.

Held responsibilities as Nurse in Charge, including staff delegation, team coordination, and maintaining care standards. Managed complex patients, including those requiring non-invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care.

Handled patient and family communication sensitively, resolving concerns and managing challenging situations professionally. Acted as Infection Control Link Nurse, supporting best practice during COVID-19.
