I am a well-organised, hard working student with voluntary experience, and am eager to discover new opportunities which my transferable skills and attributes will be able to put into practice effectively. I am a quick learner and able to communicate well with a group or individually. My education at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts provided me with confidence in public speaking and presenting ideas, whilst my education at St Edwards School Oxford has enabled me to experience a wide range of community activities – integrating with the city of Oxford. These skills collectively make me a person of good work ethic, as well as being able to enjoy myself in a professional environment.
At Notley Barn, I was responsible for serving food and drinks to wedding guests, preparing and setting up food stations, and ensuring smooth, timely service throughout events. I engaged directly with guests, whilst serving their food, providing a friendly and attentive experience for them. Whilst working closely in the kitchen, we worked under pressure yet still maintained a high standard of service.
Accomplishments:
At Peploe-Williams Academy, I was responsible for managing daily schedules and routines for children, ensuring a balanced mix of play, learning, and rest. I helped to create a calm and supportive environment by resolving conflicts using positive behaviour strategies and offering comfort to children when they were distressed. I encouraged regular hydration and healthy snacks to prepare them for their performances on stage.
Accomplishments:
• I supported the emotional and social development of children by encouraging cooperation and positive interactions
• From this experience, I’ve developed strong communication and conflict resolution skills, which I now apply calmly and confidently even in high-pressure situations
• Working closely with both children and staff has strengthened my ability to adapt to different personalities and needs, helping to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere
At St Aloysius School, I worked with primary school children from a variety of year groups. I worked on building their resilience when trying new moves and difficult partner work, as well as providing them with fun activities. During the school year, I formed close relationships with these children and found it rewarding to work with children of all backgrounds, in addition to those with special educational needs.
Accomplishments:
· Through my work at St Aloysius, I gained useful communication skills when teaching the children gymnastic movements, especially to those who found it difficult to pick up the activities.
· This allowed me to expand my confidence further in public speaking and presentation skills as I could explain activities clearly and concisely, whilst keeping the information interesting and easy to understand for the young children.
· I also was able to work well under pressure; if one of the pupils found something unsettling or challenging, I could easily resolve the situation by offering another option or slowly guiding them through the activity
At Tring Park School, we annually worked towards school performances that consisted of a professional, rigorous audition process. I was lucky enough to play three lead roles out of four of these annual performances, where I was able to grow my confidence but most importantly gain transferable skills for my future
Accomplishments:
· The audition process taught me how to learn material quickly, as well as resilience and the ability to withstand criticism. Some auditions required group work as well as individual work, which gave the flexibility to grow my skills in both situations; enabling me to become adaptable to different occasions and people.
· My concentration, commitment, initiative and ability to follow deadlines has significantly increased since attending Tring Park, as the nature of performing arts requires such stamina and dedication.
I love singing and performing, especially in group settings, and often spend my free time baking new recipes or running outdoors. I'm also passionate about history and enjoy reading and learning about the past, as well as spending time looking after children, which I find incredibly rewarding.
