  • During my time as a Child Development Officer I have been dedicated to achieving my pupils growth through targeted learning activities that meet their needs.

I have also been committed to nurturing and having attentive care in order for the children to elevate their social, emotional and educational development.

Within my job role I have a lot of key responsibility’s to meet the children’s needs such as,

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate appropriate learning experience that is in line with our curriculum.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress and use this information to inform planning and set individual targets.
  • Build positive relationships with family’s and providing regular feedback on children’s progress and always involving them in their child’s learning journey.
  • Ensuring that the nursery is always a safe, nurturing and healthy environment for the children.

Between my colleagues and I , we care for 52 children in the playroom.

During my time as a teaching assistant, I gained a lot of experience and skills which improved my practise in early years.

I had a lot of roles and responsibilities such as,

  • Provided special attention to students with learning difficulties for better inclusion in class activities.
  • Ensured consistent communication between teachers and parents about children's progress.
  • Maintained a clean, safe classroom environment by performing regular organisation and cleaning tasks.
  • Provided friendly, enthusiastic support to pupils in individual and group support settings.
  • Built trusting, respectful relationships with pupils through attentive listening and communication abilities.
  • Assisted teacher with using support equipment and computers during lessons.
  • Monitored up to 25 children in spaces between classes, keeping disruptions to minimum.

Working in different nursery schools I have had many opportunities to show my skills

I demonstrated my leadership skills by being a paths leader and a trauma enforced practitioner leader

By taking on these responsibilities I have been able to develop my knowledge and experiences by attending regular training and team meetings to discuss different focus points and to apply this learning through my practise

This has also helped me become more confident and enhance my communication skills in both my work and personal life

I am a patient, open minded and approachable and will always understand children and families emotions and circumstances

I will always pay close attention to children and understand their learning styles and address any challenges I am faced with
