Offering strong combination of communication and organisational skills, with focus on fostering positive learning environments. Knowledgeable about developing and delivering training programmes designed to benefit the community and wider area.
In my Community Resuscitation Training Officer role, I train, manage and maintain Community First responder (CFR) schemes, arrange recruitment of future first responder volunteers, investigate and support community public access defibrillators, and teach CPR and emergency first aid in all different environments. Main roles and responsibilities are listed in full below:
As a Health Advisor, I triaged large quantities of both emergency and non emergency calls. I was one of few health advisors selected to be triple-trained, meaning I was able to answer 999,111 and PTS (Patient Transport Service) calls. Main roles and responsibilities are listed below:
Community First Responder, North East Ambulance Service (June 2024-
Present)
As a trained Community First responder, I respond to life-threatening emergencies, in my
local area during my free time. I am a solo- responder, deployed to incidents such as:
cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, chest pain, breathing difficulties, fits, strokes and more. My
kit contains medical equipment such as a defibrillator, blast bandages, PPE, Oxygen and
Oxygen masks (I am trained to administer oxygen), OPA (a tube down the throat to open the
airway), full observation kit and a BM kit for testing blood sugars. It is a highly rewarding
volunteer role, providing immediate care in those vital few minutes before ambulance arrival.
Cricket Coach, Safeguarding Officer, Women and Girls Development Officer,
Riding Mill Cricket Club (August 2023- Present)
Since joining Riding Mill CC, I have built an entire Women’s and Girls section from scratch,
now delivering cricket to approximately 45 women and girls. Before my addition as a
volunteer for the club, there were no female cricketers. I oversee, plan and run all coaching
sessions, events and team-building exercises for the teams. I assist in coaching other junior
and senior programmes at the club too. Another volunteer role I carry out at this sports club
is Safeguarding Officer. Having both a male and female safeguarding was high on the
priorities that I helped enforce at the club, to ensure no vulnerable people do no have a
person they feel comfortable disclosing to. I write and enforce the clubs’ safeguarding
procedures, contact all parents for photo permission and initiate and manage DBS
applications and renewals for all volunteers to make sure we are compliant with English
Cricket Board policies. One final thing I assist in is the filming, editing and creation of content
for the Riding Mill Cricket Club social media pages.

Outside of my volunteer roles, I do enjoy a few hobbies. As well as my volunteer roles within the cricketing community, I am an avid cricketer myself. I have played the sport since I was 6 years old, and currently represent my county team (Northumberland), I am a playing member for the MCC (Lords), and play for many other clubs across the North East too., I enjoy crafts, exercising, reading, editing and am always eager to pick up new hobbies to keep my brain occupied in my free time and to learn the skills that come with it.
