IMG
Glasgow, Scotland
07.2024 - 08.2024
  • Invited by IMG to work on the 2024 Ladies Scottish Open team, tasked with assembling, running, and deconstructing the tournament
  • My role as 'Runner' entailed handling both logistical and operational tasks, essential to ensuring that the tournament ran smoothly and safely
  • I gained and strengthened several skills, these include:
  • People skills
  • Needing to act as a liaison between management, vendors and attendees requires a constant positive attitude as well as a friendly and outgoing demeanor
  • All vital to ensure that the tournament is run well but equally to showcase IMG as a company and cement values and venues/vendors for future events
  • Problem-solving skills
  • When something goes wrong during the tournament the Runner is usually the First Respond as management are busy with various tasks
  • Consequently, initiative is key and requires an ability to think independently and evaluate solution options in time-pressured situations without letting problems get any more serious
  • Time Management
  • Every detail of the event is planned; thus, any delays can have knock-on effects
  • As a result, time management is vital
  • Teamwork skills
  • Without teamwork and effective communication, the event would not be successful
  • Multiple tasks need to be handled simultaneously providing cross team support
