The DE&S graduate scheme appeals to me as a platform where I can apply my aerospace engineering skills in support of defense and national security, fields I am deeply passionate about. DE&S’s role in advancing the UK’s defense capabilities is inspiring, and I am motivated by the chance to contribute to innovative engineering projects within this organization. My MEng studies in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the University of Southampton have equipped me with a strong foundation in aerospace principles, especially through modules in aerodynamics, control systems, and systems engineering. Leading my team in the Eurobot competition developed my leadership, organization, and technical communication skills, further preparing me for a role that values collaboration and effective communication. Outside of academics, I gained valuable hands-on experience during a summer internship, where I conducted independent lab experiments on bubble transport through vortices. This experience strengthened my problem-solving abilities and autonomy. My involvement with the RESUS society has also expanded my practical skills, particularly in sustainable engineering. With a commitment to continuous learning and a strong technical background, I am keen to further develop my capabilities in a role that aligns closely with my career aspirations and values.
