In 2022, I launched my own company, Baytech, with a friend. We have ran several events throughout South Devon. In a short amount of time, pushing the brand from a little fun to being a Limited company has presented many obstacles and teaching moments. From assisting bedroom DJs in breaking into clubs, to booking well known underground DJs [such as notion and James view] along with being a DJ, I have relished every second and believe that in addition to learning a lot, I have also created something that, perhaps, many others find enjoyable and can attend regularly.
Having put on a dozen events, I believe the brand has grown stronger in a short period of time. Despite being located in a relatively small and occasionally challenging area of the country to sell tickets, I believe that the marketing strategies and tactics I have learnt along the way and implemented have only exceeded that number and allowed us to grow. We have gone from selling one hundred tickets to five hundred at one event and was even gifted the opportunity to help run the electric bay afterparty. I believe the brand has performed incredibly well and still has more to offer in the future.
From boat parties to football pitch parties, I have provided everything to enhance my guests experience and variety each time they come to my event. Given that people are constantly searching for new trends or unique activities to partake in, I believe this is essential in the times we live in.
In my role at Into the woods festival, I was responsible for the smooth running of the sanctuary stage by providing positive artist relations and seamless stage operations in an incredibly fast paced festival environment. My duty combined logistical coordination with interpersonal communication to support both artists and the production team.
During my relatively brief time selling tickets on the streets of beautiful San Antonio, Ibiza, I learnt a lot about the island's music, trends, residents' and visitors preferences. I am really happy with the experience I had and still utilise these abilities now. Living and working overseas was an incredible experience that I still treasure today.
Leaving school in 2018 I had little thought of where I wanted to go next. With limited opportunities presented to me I decided to attend college 3 days a week doing roofing and get a trade under my belt. My tutor helped me gain an apprenticeship which lead me to gain my qualification as a roofer two years later. Working for a few different companies as-well as finding my own work, I feel I have improved and grown not only as a roofer but as a person in working under tough, challenging conditions and circumstances testing myself mentally and physically. Working my way from a young apprentice to completing jobs on my own and running my own sites, I feel I have come a long way however, feel that it's time for a new challenge. The skills I have learnt in my six years in this trade, I feel as though can be put into good practice in the job in question and can easily be transfered.
