A role with significant responsibility working on Scotland's most watched news and current affairs programming. I was the lead reporter specialising in producing long-form features and items for Scotland Tonight Prime Time. Predominantly working in a team of 3 with a producer and camera operator the items had to be turned around on a week-by-week basis, while retaining high editorial standards. Each piece required extensive research, planning, production, and bespoke edits for the STV News at Six and our online team.
In this role I was responsible for the planning and output of sport and sports news for TV and digital/social media. The role required a new approach to covering events and news that balanced traditional TV demands with emerging social media opportunities.
In this role, I planned and produced our output from major events such as the Women's World Cup and domestic cup competitions. I also regularly covered the Scotland's Men's football and rugby sides - including coach and managerial sackings and appointments.

After graduating I fulfilled various freelance roles as a reporter/producer/assistant producer for a number of companies including Sky Sports News and Global Radio.
I also worked extensively within the Motorsports industry - setting up my own company and successfully producing half hour long TV shows for Motors TV and Eurosport from across Europe.
