  • I previously worked at Fenwick as a Christmas temp, this role involved getting stock from the stock room, providing excellent customer support, selling products and ensuring the shop floor was clean and tidy. The role primarily entailed guiding and assisting customers to enable them to purchase one of the many fragrances and similar products on sale. I ensured that I was friendly and approachable to all customers and made them feel comfortable during their shopping experience.
  • I am confident within roles in retail, and this helps me when speaking with customers and establishing their specific wants and needs.
  • I have completed a week's work experience at Lonsdale Financial Ltd. This role allowed me to learn all about accounting and all the steps and work involved in serving each client. I primarily did bookkeeping, but I also handled tax returns, bank work, and phone calls.
  • I have completed two work experience courses with Amazon Challenge, in July 2023, and Northumbrian Water Challenge, in July 2023.

  • I have been working as a part-time team member at Lovisa for a year. In this role I am responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the overall store operations. My duties include engaging with customers to assist with product selection and drive sales, obtaining sales targets, operating the till efficiently to handle transactions accurately, maintaining a clean and organised store environment, and helping coworkers complete their tasks more smoothly/efficiently. Not only this, but I also receive, accept, and process deliveries, mock the store, and fill out all the registers while simultaneously completing the other tasks. I work closely with my team to ensure daily tasks are completed smoothly, contributing to a positive and productive workplace. Through these responsibilities, I help uphold Lovisa’s high standards of presentation and customer experience.
  • I have gained some valuable experience during my time at Lovisa. I have travelled with the company for up to 5 days at a time, helped other branches, helped set up a new store, and completed stock take and sale scanning. This has given me lots of experience in the fast pace work that retail requires.
  • I have also gained some management/leadership role experience with the company. I have been the acting floor manager on multiple occasions, this entailed being a strong leader for the team, balancing piercings, sales, the tills, customer experience and enforcing zoning was the primary focus and I delegate the tasks based on performance and confidence. During busy Saturdays Lovisa gets very busy and footfall is at its peak, it is essential for the FM to support and answer queries from staff and customers whilst completing the previously mentioned tasks. I have been given the responsibility to run the store alone for prolonged periods, been a key holder numerous times, completed manager reports on sales, losses, productivity and opened and closed the store, including handling the cash. Another management role I often fulfil is training new staff, I have been training staff since September last year on how to make sales, use the till, how to do different every day and more official tasks, and everything to do with the store. I have also helped managers/assistant managers with various tasks including till systems, more efficient routes for tasks and have had good rapport and communication with them.

Hobbies and Interests

My current hobbies and interests include reading, exercise, going on walks, exploring new places and cultures and more. I also enjoy movies and getting myself out into the world. I believe strongly in equality for all. Exercising and going for walks are a form of meditation for me, a time to clear my mind, regain focus, release stress, and debrief after a long day. I would also consider myself a social person, I enjoy talking to new people as I get to learn about a whole new person, which I find rather interesting.
