• At QIAGEN, I worked on cancer research within the product development department
• My duties were handling biological samples, preparation of reagents, RNA extraction and RT-PCR followed by data analysis and troubleshooting
• I had the opportunity to become a TapeStation trainer, therefore I developed leadership and management skills.
• Trained staff in TapeStation process to enhance productivity.
• Delivered a successful project to optimise assay components within agreed budgets and timeframes. Acquired team management and study coordination skills.

• I worked on the COVID-19 testing project in the first Amazon lab in Europe
• I had the opportunity to work in the frontline for testing patients during the COVID-19 pandemic
• Responsible for sample processing from reception, RNA extraction to qPCR and data analysis in a high-performance lab
• Above all that, I had the opportunity to be a part of a new developing team and laboratory where I had the chance to improve the lab flow, SOPs and risk assessments, code of practice, waste management, sample -processing and -testing.
• Optimised laboratory efficiencies by monitoring supply levels and promptly reordering low-stock items.
• Performed monthly instrument calibration to ensure maximum accuracy of results.
• Trained new junior laboratory technicians in lab best practices.

The lab does research on the Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and the proteins that cause CMT like HINT1. I acquired many skills in gene transformation, selection with antibiotics in yeasts, DNA extraction of the yeast, qPCR, and Sanger sequencing.
