· Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, standards, and HS2-specific guidelines, policies, and procedures.

· Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific health and safety plans to meet HS2 project standards.

· Conduct regular health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend improvements.

· Support the safe planning, coordination, and execution of surfacing activities, including road and pathway surfaces within the HS2 corridor.

· Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and health and safety inductions to staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.

· Identify training needs for site personnel and ensure training programs are effectively delivered to promote a culture of safety.

· Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of health and safety, promoting safe work practices and risk management.

· Manage and coordinate incident and accident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions.

· Conduct root cause analyses for all incidents and work with teams to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

· Maintain accurate records of incidents, risk assessments, audits, and other health and safety-related documents.

· Collaborate with subcontractors, project managers, and site personnel to ensure health and safety requirements are integrated into all project phases.

· Act as the main point of contact for health and safety issues on surfacing work, liaising with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and HS2 representatives as needed.

· Provide clear, concise communication of health and safety policies and procedures to the workforce, ensuring high levels of awareness and compliance.

· Monitor and evaluate health and safety performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement and implementing best practices.

· Participate in HS2 health and safety forums, meetings, and other collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing safety across the project.

· Contribute to the development and enhancement of health and safety policies and procedures.

· Conducted risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards during warehouse refurbishment.

· Take an active part in Health and Safety management meetings.

· Be responsible for ensuring accreditations with health and safety bodies are renewed in a timely manner.
