I worked in an Older Persons Assessment Unit as a newly qualified nurse. Working in an acute assessment setting challenged me to manage a fast-paced and often stressful environment while maintaining patient safety and supporting effective multidisciplinary team working.

My expected roles as a registered nurse were as follows:

Working as a Band 6 Ward Sister in an acute setting, I developed strong clinical leadership skills and became confident in prioritising patient care and managing resources effectively, particularly in busy and high-pressure environments.
