Mateusz Kola

I have experience in data, full-stack, site reliability and platform engineering. I also have experience in the 'big 3' clouds and passionate about data. My key interests lie in optimising and modernising processes, and delivering products which get great feedback from the end users. My top qualities are good communication and spreading knowledge across the team, very quick learning and an openness to discuss solutions, not holding back my opinion.

• I can communicate efficiently and thoroughly, explaining my thought process and rationale through words and diagrams (in complex cases)
• I am not afraid of criticism, and am never afraid to ask for help from people with more experience and knowledge than me in the field.
• Equally, I am not afraid to speak up and question solutions where I feel another approach might be more beneficial, often leading to debates and an overall more informed decision made
• I am very quick learner, with each of my roles so far using different technology stacks and requiring completely different skill sets and mentality from myself - yet from each of these I rose to the occasion and developed great results.
• This does not apply to only technical work however, as it extends to soft skills like communicating and listening, one example of which is learning a new language when I came to England at the age of 7 knowing no English at all

I love to play and watch sports. I follow both football and basketball, hence why my dissertation at University focusing on predicting basketball game results with a CNN. I was also the owner and director of a semi-professional esport organisation which on occasions achieved top 16 results in the UK, expanded to multiple gaming titles and had good social media presence.

At University, I started playing Volleyball and become a higher education volleyball officer for Volleyball England, where I helped at the UK national volleyball championship finals in Kettering in April 2019.

I also like to edit videos and have a small YouTube channel where I edited my own videos, on top of that, I also love quizzes and trivia, and actually write quiz books which already sold multiple hundred copies - so this became a bit of a niche side hobby

On the side I help train chatbots to introduce new functionalities. I mainly perform tasks to improve the models' responses and identifying as well as rectifying inaccuracies or responses where responses did not follow instructions, primarily surrounding programming topics
