Observed 12 patients, one of whom presented with a detached retainer wire, causing mouth ulcers and teeth drift. The dentist used acid etching to prepare the teeth and bonded the retainer using a floatable resin composite and UV light. The patient had a good level of trust and rapport with the Dentist, who was considerately explaining each step and following strict infection control measures. I observed a range of procedures, from check-ups and cleaning procedures to fillings and root canal treatments. I was fascinated by the creativity and attentiveness to achieve customized treatments; an eroded tooth is restored using various methods, such as composite bonding, crowns, or veneers.

This gave me a broad and detailed understanding of dental hygiene work. I greatly value the interaction with patients and other professionals and working within a team.
