As team leader I am responsible for the mental health and wellbeing of my service users and staff. This includes writing and updating care plans ensuring that they are person centered and current to the needs of the resident. Medicating residents ordering and booking in medication., Liaising with outside services like GP's, district nurses occupational therapists, physio therapists as well as family members to keep them informed about any changes regarding their loved ones

I encourage my team to be proactive document and report any concerns and ensure that the health and well being of the residents are paramount.

As a team leader I am responsible for the running of the shift which means allocating staff as fairly as possible ensuring rotation and the needs of the home at the time. With this in mind you have to be very adaptable and be able to deal with staff and rapidly changing situations

I try to ensure that my staff are happy and feel comfortable to approach me with any issues that they may be experiencing both in and out of work. My door is always open and I sign post them appropriately to any services that I feel will be beneficial to them
