Work History

Inclusion Practitioner

HM Prison and Probation service - MK College
10.2025 - 11.2026
  • I worked with learners to remove barriers to learning and help aid their education. This requires strong knowledge of equality and diversity, ensuring all students have equal opportunities.
  • I conducted assessments to determine their needs and used Excel spreadsheets to document needs and support plans.
  • I had to be able to communicate effectively with different departments, such as healthcare and security, and manage various workloads. Inter-departmental communication is essential to this role.
  • I had to provide 1:1 with students in various courses that MK College provides, such as English, Maths, Employability, and Wellbeing. It was important to track learner development and record this on the system.
  • I had to be proactive by addressing any issues promptly; following procedures; encouraging open communication with learners and, anticipating hazards.
  • As a representative of education, I had to attend frequent meetings with the Security department, Healthcare services, Multifaith team, Mental health providers, and the Offender Management Unit. This was to address concerns of safety and well-being of prisoners as well as assessing their suitability for release.
  • My role requires researching individual prisoner cases carefully, including medical history, LDD needs, and other factors that may affect how they perform in education.
  • I managed time effectively to balance appointments with learners, and administrative duties

Assistant Librarian

HM Prison and Probation service - MK College
06.2023 - 06.2024
  • I encouraged the educational development of prisoners by assisting with learning within an inclusive environment. An important part of my role was to engage prisoners in reading by recommending books, so this required up-to-date knowledge of the library catalogue. My goal was to ensure all prisoners from all backgrounds and literacy levels had the essential skills to improve their post-release employment prospects.
  • My duties ensured the success of the library. It included processing requests, cataloguing, organising, renewing, and returning books and DVDs. Furthermore, I had to frequently update the library database, which gave me knowledge of IT skills, Word and Excel proficiency, and record-keeping.
  • Any operational concerns or security-related concerns were raised with the Senior Librarian. For instance, logging out of accounts, monitoring prisoner access to computers, monitoring their access to Prison Service Instructions (PSIs), and making sure they follow protocols. This is communicated via email and telephone calls.
  • I had to be adaptable to changes in policies and schedules whilst maintaining professionalism and exceptional standards of service..

Assistant Consultant

Blue Arrow Recruitment
Coventry
06.2019 - 08.2019

Reason for leave: Short-term position for work experience in a recruitment agency.

  • This role at a recruitment agency involved administrative duties and developed skills, namely: confidential data handling, communication, DBS filtering and checks, administrative support, recruitment co-ordination, research and report-making, and accuracy and attention to detail.
  • I methodically organised a high number of documents, which included timelines, payrolls, and reports in the industrial, capital, and catering sectors. To dispose of any outdated documentation, I was required to follow data protection rules.
  • I constantly dealt with customers and clients in person and via telephone daily. Telephone communication was predominantly for administrative queries, such as employment inquiries and the completion of mandatory forms that clients were required to fill out.
  • Handling their identification documents with confidentiality and care was important, as was maintaining confidentiality in their criminal background checks and DBS clearance for employment placements.
  • I helped to manage the preliminary screening of applications and coordinated with businesses to fill staffing needs.
  • I composed emails, maintained contact records, and facilitated additional opportunities by reaching out to new businesses.

Accomplishments

  • March 2021 Paralegal Training, Level 3 Diploma: Gained an understanding of the legal sector through this online course and acquired skills in notetaking, conflict resolution, management, and responsibility. It provides an understanding of the duties of a Paralegal, such as preparing legal files, interviewing clients, writing reports, and general dealings with caseloads. I improved my skills in note-taking and attention to detail because of the heavy content I was studying.
  • October 2020 Classical Dancing, Level 6 Diploma: Classical dancing is a form of South Asian traditional dance that incorporates beautiful costumes and songs. Through 6 years of practical and theory examinations, it had proved that I was able to balance my social life with my academic life well.
