I co-own a small rare breed farm with my husband. We run a small flock of rare breed sheep which we keep as a fibre only flock.

We manage an online wool and fibre shop, to promote the qualities of British wool.


The farm has provided us with the opportunity to appear on Country File, various local news programmes as a local producer. Various radio shows and in numerous newspapers and magazines. Also featuring in a Netflix documentary on female shepherds.

  • Responsible for the overall running of 3 museums: Leeds Industrial Museums - Thwaite Mills Watermill and Leeds City Museum.


Achievements included:

  • Awarded Leader of the Year award in 2012 - top award in the council
  • Raised over £1.2m to transform both working mills back into working order
  • Achieved numerous awards for community gardens, education work, achieving income targets, training front of house staff, access etc
  • Worked on developing new exhibition spaces and programmes
  • Developed partnerships with other museums e.g. the British Museum which led to the Egyptian exhibition at the City Museum
