Work History

Lab Demonstrator

University of Nottingham Department of Engineering
Nottingham, United Kingdom
10.2023 - 10.2026
  • Worked with the Chemical and Environmental Engineering department for to aid in the undergraduate laboratory modules.
  • Taught up to 200 students on how to operate the laboratory equipment for the successful operation of their experiments. Experiments included understanding mechanical pump performance, fluid mechanics, and field work for process design.
  • Worked with the laboratory technicians to ensure that the laboratory experiments were run smoothly. This included replacing faulty pumps, identifying and mitigating blocked liquid flow, and adjusting lab equipment to reduce chances of any injury.
  • Educated students on engineering laboratory essentials such as standard operating procedures, health and safety analysis on the experiments, and how to analyse their data.
  • Effectively communicated chemical engineering concepts to the students to help them write their reports.
  • Trained new demonstrators in best practices for teaching labs, promoting a consistent educational experience.

Operations Management Apprentice

Petronas
02.2022 - 08.2022
  • Worked in the Upstream Sector of Petronas Indonesia Carigali Operations in collaboration with SKK MIGAS.
  • Part of the Operations Department responsible for the successful operations of the Bukit Tua, Bukit Panjang, and Hidayah oil and gas fields.
  • Learned oil and gas production processes and operation activities at each of the fields with the help of supervision under a Senior Asset Manager.
  • Assisted in the asset planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of the offshore platforms.
  • Ensured that the Key Performance Indicators of the Bukit Tua field are met throughout the year. Ensured that commercial, health and safety, plant operation, and plant production standards are met.
  • Involved in meetings discussing daily operations at the Bukit Tua offshore field. Meetings discuss and details the health and safety operations, production status, and maintenance procedures that took place at the offshore field in the past 24 hours.
  • Involved in meetings discussing logistical planning in various offshore projects such as pipeline installations, operational maintenance, subsurface studies, and wellhead platform startups.

Chemical Engineering Summer Intern

University Of Edinburgh School Of Engineering
06.2019 - 08.2019
  • Worked on a research project with a PhD student supervised by a university academic.
  • Learned how to operate custom-made experimental apparatus to run adsorption experiments.
  • Ran experiments on an adsorption volumetric differential apparatus to plot isotherms of nitrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide at different temperatures.
  • Aided in the construction of a similar apparatus but in a different configuration that can operate at lower pressures.
  • Aided in the successful handling and delivery of the parts for the new apparatus.
  • Presented project to peers and seniors as well as documenting the functionality of the apparatus.
  • Results in this project include adsorption isotherm experimental results for the future publication of scientific articles and construction of apparatus now used in adsorption laboratory.
  • Effectively conducted nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane adsorption isotherm experiments at three sets of temperatures.
  • Experimental data showed 90% correlation of literature experiments.
  • Experimental results presented during AIChE annual meeting in 2019.

Head of Events Division

Indonesian Students Association in Edinburgh (PPI Edinburgh)
10.2018 - 05.2019
  • Part of the team of five individuals organising events for the Indonesian population residing in Edinburgh, as well as hosting events for other Indonesians in other parts of the UK.
  • Planned the activities, catering, and promotion for these social events.
  • Activities included games night, movie night, trips, and collaboration with PPI Glasgow.
  • Events had a large attendance of 20 to 30 people.
