Summary

Throughout my seventeen years of teaching I have gained extensive skills and experience in modifying the curriculum and my teaching strategies, to meet the needs of children with a range of individual needs. Working in Early Years has given me so many opportunities to support the physical, emotional, social and educational development of so many young children. I have worked alongside colleagues to plan and deliver a range of activities to support the individual development of the children in our care. My priorities include looking after the health and well-being of the children in my care, using observations to monitor their individual progress, developing strong relationships with children and their families and providing a happy and stimulating environment where children feel safe.

Safeguarding the children in my care is paramount and I strive to create excellent relationships with children and their families. Safeguarding in my current school is effective and regular training enables me to keep my pupils safe, follow procedures and take appropriate action when it is needed. We work collaboratively to safeguard every child and I take my individual responsibility to protect the children in my care very seriously.

I have held a TLR since 2012 which has included being responsible for developing Talk for Writing, Speech and Language support in the Early Years and running intervention groups in EYFS and Year One to provide additional teaching to those pupils who need support to plug the gaps in their learning. Data analysis has been a key part of my role, ensuring that I know the starting points of all children, their targets and any gaps in their learning. I have used pupil progress meetings with colleagues to ensure my teaching is pitched and differentiated accurately, and for preparing and implementing precise interventions.

I am passionate, dedicated and approachable. My effective communication skills allow me to build strong relationships with colleagues, children and their parents and carers. I pride myself on being supportive and friendly. Respect is everything. I work hard to create and promote positive relationships. I like that every day is different and that each child is unique. I am always willing to learn to further improve my own practice and am keen to undertake a new challenge.
