I started employment as a Housekeeper at Travelodge in July 2013. I had a young son at the time and was able to work shifts which the hotel provided around his school time as i was a single parent. I was soon promoted to a Hotel Receptionist and then later as a Hotel Supervisor in 2018 after my managers at the time seeing my potential, excellent customer service skills and abilities to work on my own and achieve results.
I have a professional, hard working, caring approach to my job and enjoy working with others, seeing positive results of my efforts whether that is from training and mentoring a new member of staff or seeing the positive feedback and comments from guests at the hotel as a result of the changes i have implemented to the hotel.
I am looking for a new challenge in my career and would love to work for Flagship Homes as they are a well thought of, successful housing provider with the same ethos as i share.
As a Hotel Supervisor, my responsibilities consist of many different roles I manage a team of 10 housekeepers and receptionists, so on a day to day basis I need to be flexible and adapt to whatever the challenge or issue could be raised that day As well as being the Supervisor, I am also a full-time Hotel Receptionist, which involves checking in guests, dealing with any complaints raised, and helping guests with any issues they may have during their stay In addition to this, as a Supervisor, I manage and report any maintenance jobs that need carrying out on the repair system we use I carry out daily checks of the hotel to highlight any issues or repairs which are needed, as well as being the main person responsible for reporting these repairs if they are raised to me by my colleagues These repairs could be essential maintenance or a result of a Health and Safety Risk Assessment, which my line manager and I carry out on a monthly basis
I am responsible for the weekly rotas for the housekeepers and receptionists For this, I need to be organised and aware of any annual leave requests, as well as keep up to date with any staff sicknesses, outside commitments for staff members such as child care commitments as well as any booked appointments I achieve this by using the IT systems for tracking Annual leave requests and by my excellent communication skills within the team
Every day I manage the time cards for all of the housekeepers and receptionists, which involves checking each member of staff's start time, breaks, finishing times, and making sure they are achieving their contract hours each week If there are any discrepancies with correct hours not being worked, I am responsible for informing the payroll team and the member of staff involved to find out why this happened
I manage my own work load and ensure all daily/weekly/monthly responsibilities are fully completed I carry this out with minimal supervision and use my outlook diary/IT databases and appointment reminders to ensure all deadlines and duties are completed
I am the first point of contact when guests check in to the hotel, as well as providing advice and guidance to my team of 10 I am representing Travelodge and, as such, conduct myself in a professional manner with a positive 'can do' approach I also communicate with Local Authority, Councils, social workers, and Police Officers who may come into the hotel or contact the hotel over the telephone asking for advice on a missing person they may have, or enquiring if we could house a complex individual This could be a victim of domestic violence, homelessness, or simple housing repairs, so I will help there whenever possible and treat everyone with respect and courtesy
My line manager and I are only responsible for processing the financial side of the hotel, which involves ensuring cash deposits are checked and correctly banked, as well as inputting the card payments into the correct IT systems, which are essential responsibilities every day
I am also on hand to the team and provide support to them, resolve any conflict between members of the team, and generally ensure the team are working within safety guidelines, checking on their welfare, and providing support where needed
I have a full clean driving Licence.
