Work history

PART 1 ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

Julian Harrap Architects
Hoxton, EAST LONDON
2022.10 - 2023.09
  • I worked on several Conservation projects with experienced architect Andrew Coles for a church in Guild Hall Yard, which was opened by King Charles III. Grade 1 listed building, currently on stage 6. The project entails restoration within the church, such as the belfry tower, the clock dials, a proposed electrical room and plant room, accommodation for the priest, and overall restoration of the church. Using Vectorworks, I conducted several detailed drawings of the gutter valley, which would be installed within the roofing, as well as detailing of aspects such as the proposed parapet and lightning tape.

PART 1 ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

BLDA ARCHITECTS
CHELSEA HARBOUR, LONDON
2022.01 - 2022.08
  • I worked on two high-end projects. Existing build, The Well House in Wimbledon and 23 Phillimore Gardens in Kensington. Working alongside the lead architect, Jack Prescott, I first visited the site to familiarise myself with the building, the overall process and programme of the project. In stage 5 of the RIBA phase, using AutoCAD Architecture 2020 and SketchUp to conduct 900 series room layouts. My role specifically was to collaborate with the consultants, the interior designer, Lucy Wrisdale and conduct joinery for each room on each of the floors and liaise with the client alongside this aspect. Ensuring the radiator and AC Unit were used alongside their necessary schedules, thus drawing up plans and elevations for each room.

Work experience

David Maycox
East Barnet, London
2017.08 - 2017.08
  • Visited a site and measured up interiors to comply with the clients’ requirements, which was an extension, diving into the party wall act. Understanding the legal obligations before commencing any building work.

Work experience

Kanvass Ltd
Vauxhall, London
2017.02 - 2017.03
  • My position was to work on a restaurant that was proposed for a client in central London and develop this cladding system as part of the design thesis. A Swiss inspired restaurant and bar in Soho, Rupert Street. This restaurant design is portrayed on the Kanvass website.
  • 2-month work

Work experience

Hadley Design Associates (Architects)
High Barnet, Hertfordshire
2015.08 - 2015.09
  • My task was to visit properties with lead architect Ashely Rodgers to measure interiors and exteriors using digital laser distance meter to obtain accurate measurements. The client required an extension specifically a conservatory area. I transferred the relevant information on Auto CAD creating sections, elevations, and plans of this conservatory proposal. Creating visuals using Google Sketchup as it was a quick and visual way to provide the 3D details to the customer giving her an idea of what the extension would look like in its relevant natural overall context. My first active project was a success.
  • Architectural Assistant 1 month experience- 2-months unpaid work

Work experience

Shed KM (Architects)
Soho, London
2015.08 - 2015.08
  • ShedKm was a broad experience. Learning a new software like Rhino was a fantastic way to focus more on structure, translating the timber structure into a beach hut design that met the brief. I took this timber construction and modelled it in Google SketchUp to produce a stunning scenic building, which was a proposal for a beach in the West Indies. I was then able to produce an accurate model to show scale.

VISION

My love and enthusiasm for the Architecture industry, and my motivation, are to become a fully qualified architect by completing my studies beyond the master's level and reaching my goal.  My projection is to collaborate with an Architectural team to stimulate a healthy, positive change in the world by manifesting the beauty of originality and innovation. For example, environmentally friendly buildings are the subject of architecture today. To design with nature as well as design for sustainable living. For example, promoting the idea of designing a hypoallergenic structure using low-toxic materials.
