Working in Transport office on Procter and Gamble's London site is split between two roles, in-gate and allocation
In-gate operator deals with internal and import lorry drivers, receives hauliers shipment reference number and explains where their trailer is located
Is necessary to check security release email, accurately give drivers correct paperwork, and explain site rules
Is crucial to manage site parking spaces via RTICIS to ensure drivers have spaces to park and keep operation smooth
By allocation desk, is required to correctly assign shipment numbers to different hauliers trailers and consider different requirements by checking customer memo request, that is issued on TMS (transport management system)
Assigned trailers are then issued as movements to tug drivers, who maintain expected KPI
All shipments details are entered into excel spreadsheet, and paperwork is gathered together to hang on board for in-gate operator
