• Carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards.
• Support the SCN to ensure delivery of high standards of safe and effective nursing care with a robust framework of clinical, financial and staff governance.
• Assist the SCN in the setting, implementation and evaluation of standards of nursing practice.
• Supervise all staff within remit.
• Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff.
• Assist SCN with Care assurance, IPC and HEI expectations.

• Responsible to the SCN for the monitoring and management of the ward/department budget and finance.

• Staff nurse in a busy, nurse led, outpatient renal dialysis unit.
• During this post increased knowledge and skills regarding dialysis and caring for patients with end stage renal disease.
• Liaised with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including the community palliative care nurse specialist to plan and complete future careplans for patients withdrawing from active dialysis treatment.
• Discussed with patients their monthly blood results and encouraged and empowered them to take responsibility for their health and make positive health choices

Staff nurse as part of the inpatient services in Campbeltown consisting of a 15 bedded GP acute ward which cares for acute admissions via the accident and emergency department.
There are a number of services under the remit of inpatient services and I was required to work within each section. These included supporting A&E Staff and lone working within the renal dialysis unit. Also involved working with rehabilitation services within the multidisciplinary team and ran daycase services to provide adjunct therapies, dressing clinic and transfusions.

Inver House is a nurse led, community rehabilitation facility which has 16 beds. Providing care for patients requiring rehabilitation, palliative care or who require further assessment following an acute hospital admission. Local GPs manage the medical needs of patients who are admitted to this Hospital.
