My passion and interest has always been delivering care to my patient in a Community and Clinical setting within the NHS Service.
I have acquired many clinical skills and attributes that can be transferred in a Practice Nurse Setting.
I am excited about the prospect of starting a new career in Primary Care and look forward to working in new clinical environment and learning new skills.
I have good local knowledge of South Derbyshire due to previous work experience as a Community Nurse.

Delivering nursing care to patients in their home and clinic environment.
Duties include venepuncture, administration of medications such as controlled drugs via syringe drivers, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections. Administration of Prostap and Zoladex. Administering vaccines such as Shingles/Pneumonia/Influenza. Nursing patients with Diabetes such as insulin and blood glucose monitoring, promoting their independence. Removal of sutures and clips. Simple and complex wound care. Pressure ulcer care and prevention advice. Moisture associated skin damage care. Urinary catheter insertion for both male and female patients. PICC line care. Palliative care support. Working closely with GP Practices, Care-Co-ordinators, Physio/Occupational Therapists, Derbyshire Health United, Community Matrons and other Agencies such as Marie Curie/Treetops Hospice.
Providing nursing care to patients pre and post operatively on a General Surgical Ward.
Administration of Intravenous Medications, Vital observations, Pain Management, discharge planning to ensure the patient is safe and supported socially and holistically following surgery. Completing observations such as surgical checklists, consent documentation and updating medical records via electronic and paper systems.
Worked as a health care assistant in a Medical Outpatient Clinic.
Taking clinic observations, weight/BMI, chaperoning Consultants during minor operations, venepuncture, ECGs, ensuring clinics were kept clean and tidy. Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.
Providing care to fifteen service users with a Team of carers.
Assisting with daily care such as washing, dressing, supporting with daily living, promoting independence, social activities, hobbies.
