Summary

I am a hardworking individual who is also kind and caring in my approach to my role, and with my colleagues. I have a wealth of experience working in an office environment, gained over a period of 40 years. I began my career with the National Westminster Bank, and worked my way up through the grades to become Personal Assistant to the Director of Human Resources. Within this role I would provide cover to the Executive Office and Board in times of annual leave / sickness. I always welcomed this experience and worked with a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity, liaising with senior staff both within and outside the organisation in a professional manner. I would sometimes work outside my comfort zone,

. I am able to organise effectively and prioritise my own workload. I can work under pressure, and can work as well on my own as within a Team. I love the mix of different ways of working, I am never afraid to contribute in meetings, to give my opinion or suggestion or to challenge others on theirs in a positive wa

Seasoned in administrative roles with career focus on team coordination and management. Known for driving productivity and improving procedural processes within corporate teams, leveraging skills in organisational management and communication. Committed to fostering streamlined, efficient workplace environments and delivering top-notch administrative support.

My communication skills are excellent and I seek and share information in a discreet, respectful, confident and compelling manner. I am a good organiser. I can evidence this in many ways, within my current role arranging Away Days, MDT meetings but in the outside world as a Brownie Guider organising Camps, setting up Risk Assessments and communicating to the parents. I was an Events Co-ordinator for a Classic Car Club for many years and would take charge of organising events throughout the country. I love problem solving and can think outside the box. Conflict resolution interests me and I have some experience from my days in Human Resources in may guises from supporting the Director with a major down sizing exercises in the 1990s to being present at mediation sessions between staff. NSFT have recently advertised for staff to volunteer as Mediators, to be trained to assist the HR Team and I am awaiting the outcome of my application in this regard. I have used my mediating skills many times over the years to help colleagues resolve differences before they escalate and have indeed resolved issues myself with other

Excel skills are at Intermediate level and I discussed in my recent Line Management Supervision attending some training to extend this knowledge. I am confident in preparing spreadsheets and reports and not afraid to experiment, to ask others and to research new ways of working to achieve the results I want. My IT skills are good and I am able to work with many different systems and happy to learn new processes. I undertake all Procurement within my role and am confident with Oracle, ESR and Lorenzo. Over the years within the NHS I have worked with many different systems and programmes and have always adapted well. I pride myself on my written communication and analytical skills. I set myself high standards in terms of accurate spelling and grammar. I get involved with Emergency and Contingency Planning within my role, and was instrumental in ensuring the correct Lone Working Policy is adhered to. I set up a meeting with an outside supplier to demonstrate a personal alarm system for the Team whilst we were in the developmental stages of ensuring safer working. I use my shorthand qualification within my day to day work, and am a fast and accurate typist. I pride myself on my attention to detail, my grammar and spelling. In the past I have undertaken proof reading for an Insurance Company whilst still studying at school, and in my early days within the Bank. Any documents that are drawn up within the Perinatal Team, I scrutinise for accuracy and set myself a very high stand in this regard. I am able to multi-task and work as well alone, as within a team environment. Within my current role I am the ‘Go to person' and am often referred to as ‘The Anchor'. I am aware of the feelings of others, and am a good listener which I think is an important skill to have. I can evidence how in a previous role I assisted a younger work colleague through a distressing life experience, encouraging and supporting her to seek help to enable her to maintain a life / work balance. I am confident preparing Agendas, minuting meetings and distribution. This is demonstrated within my current role where I have full responsibility for the preparation and running of the Multi Disciplinary Team Meeting on a weekly basis. I pride myself on the distribution of minutes in a timely and accurate fashion, paying attention to any actions outstanding, either for completion by myself, or to prompt others to provide information. I investigate and report on all data issues within my role, working with my colleagues to increase their knowledge, and guiding them to achieve better results. I am an ACAS trained Mediator in the work place.
