Employee Relations Adviser (Secondment)

Phoenix Group
Edinburgh
08.2025 - Current

Newly appointed Employee Relations Adviser (Secondment until Feb 2026). I am playing a crucial role in ensuring the redundancy calculations and overall process is being completed accurately. Key responsibilities whilst in training so far have been to help create scoring templates for managers, attending redundancy meetings to prepare managers for consultations and calculating staff redundancy payment. This also involves looking at their redundancy terms, service and ringfenced benefits. I have also checked over invoice payments. I will be working in the Asset Management area going forward.

  • Create contracts of employment for External and internal staff.
  • Ensuring organisation and efficiency. Managing the mailbox and SR on the helpdesk.
  • Projects include the SLOC project I helped manage within Onboarding shortly after returning from Maternity. This was also done during a change in payroll provider.
  • Explored new opportunities whilst maintaining focus on core responsibilities.
  • SME for internal journey
  • Training members of the team on both External and Internal offers. A good support to the team. My own workload was never reduced whilst training other staff.
  • Maintained all documentation, guaranteeing accuracy and accessibility.
  • Improved workflow efficiency by developing process improvements. This includes how we manage Final vetting reports.
  • Handled administrative tasks, freeing up time for senior staff members. This included Finscan for Aileen.
  • Answered phone calls and responded to emails from clients. People Advice trained and often used to cover holidays and busy spells.
  • Managed and prioritised varied and busy workload to meet deadlines.

Employee Benefits Officer

Phoenix Group
Edinburgh
03.2020 - 10.2021

As an employee benefits officer I administered several External companies employee benefits programs, which covered support with medical insurance, health insurance, retirement plans and perks! Key responsibilities included enrolling employees in benefit plans, answering benefit-related questions, processing claims and renewals, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. My assigned clients included Odeon Cinema, Heineken and BNP. I had to capture the full Lifecycle journey from Joiner right through to Leaver and provide accurate info for payroll. This is where I developed my Excel skills most by using vlook up.
