  • My career in the NHS has spanned 17 years of various roles and responsibilities were I have gained valuable knowledge qualification's along the way, from working as a Health Care Assistant on a male medical ward, to a Maternity Support working on a maternity ward, then onto a Health Care Assistant with the District Nursing team then becoming an Assistant Practitioner in the District Nursing team, which lead to an Education role with the Tissue Viability team that then lead to Education Support worker within the care sector.
  • Providing high-quality training and education to enable residents to access the best quality of care.
  • Adaptable skills and knowledge for the care sector I am training. The training covers many different subjects and provide programme for the care sector to join.
  • Communicating with a vast number of different professionals, patients/residents, for example: Primary care networks, GPs, Inpatient and community teams, Registered nurses, Care support staff, Care sector managers, Care agencies, Team colleagues, Social services, District nursing services.
  • I support and review training packages and develop new training packages appropriate for the care sector, using PowerPoint, other programme I use: Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Outlook diary.
  • I plan my work and time management effectively for my role to meet the requirements of the people I am training, my colleagues' availability, and the geographical area, making sure that I priorities my workload effectively.
  • The training I provide and coordinate is to enable care sector staff to gain a better knowledge base to provide improved and effective care to the people they look after.
  • I have the competency, confidence, and expertise to carry out my role. I work under my own initiative within the remit of my role and as part of the team.
  • I organise what equipment is required for the training being provided and any other resources that are required. I adapt as necessary to meet the specific needs of the sector I am providing training for.
  • I collate data, monitoring, and evaluation, and have excellent IT skills. Within the role, I preserve confidentiality and am aware of the Data Protection Act and consent to treatment guidelines. I address any problems during the day-to-day work, reporting any concerns to a team leader/manager.
