Summary

With 16 years of teaching experience across EYFS, KS1 and other primary year groups, I am a dedicated and passionate educator whose main strengths lie within KS1, particularly Year 1 and Year 2. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding of child development and the importance of creating a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued, supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.

I have extensive experience working with children with SEN, behavioural needs and additional learning barriers, enabling me to confidently adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of individual needs. My strong classroom management skills allow me to create calm, positive and structured environments that promote both emotional wellbeing and academic success. I am highly skilled in assessing, planning and implementing tailored learning opportunities that encourage independence, resilience and confidence while ensuring appropriate challenge for every pupil.

Alongside my classroom teaching experience, my work as a 1:1 home tutor has strengthened my ability to personalise learning and build strong relationships with children and families. This role has enhanced my flexibility, creativity and understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to support individual learning styles and needs effectively.

In my current role, I have gained extensive experience supporting children with EAL and overcoming barriers to learning through targeted strategies, visual support, language-rich environments and strong communication with families. I am passionate about ensuring all children feel included and able to access the curriculum regardless of their starting points.

Looking ahead, I see myself continuing to work within a nurturing school environment that prioritises the wellbeing and holistic development of children. I am particularly drawn to settings with smaller class sizes where I can fully utilise my experience, build meaningful relationships and provide high-quality, personalised education that enables every child to thrive.

As a mother of two, I also value working within a supportive and understanding school community that recognises the importance of a healthy work-life balance for staff. I believe that when staff wellbeing is valued and supported, it positively impacts the quality of education and care provided to children.
