I am a dedicated and passionate Level 6 student counsellor trained to work in an integrative way, utilising psychodynamic therapy techniques, cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, gestalt techniques, and a humanistic approach. I have recently received my fitness to practice after completing my Level 5/diploma studies.
In Level 6 I am training to be proficient in dealing better with known DSM-5 disorders, with my focus project focus being trauma and anger. I aim to refine my anxiety, grief and anger management techniques through working in a clinical setting with my clients.
I have trained in the REMA model of counselling, which is an integrative framework built on a psychodynamic base. I integrate person-centred techniques to stay with my clients, attuning to them through active listening to build a good therapeutic alliance through non-judgemental communication. I also integrate gestalt methodology as well as cognitive behavioural therapy for certain situations which may require a more objective based approach.
I am also committed to ethical understanding as a member of the BACP and I adhere to their guidelines and principles. I also have strong self-awareness.
