As fixtures secretary I organise all games for the Junior Section of Nant Conwy Rugby team on a weekly basis. The club overall boasts ten under 16 teams within their junior section (approximately 200 young people). I liaise with clubs across North Wales to organise games for each of these teams, as well as organising tournaments throughout the year. My role also makes me the first point of contact for the Junior Section through the club's website and direct enquiries to the relevant departments throughout the club.
As part of a dedicated team of volunteers, I am a leader of a local Girlguiding. We currently have 15 enthusiastic 7-10 year old girls and 8 10-15 year olds, whom I assist to run meetings for on a weekly basis., I am responsible for ensuring health and safety, compliance with safeguarding and effective communications with parents and other leaders within Girlguiding., As a leadership team we strive to provide an inclusive environment to all young members whilst encouraging them to reach their individual potential, through a mixture of activities such as arts and crafts, to first aid training and residential events.
I currently hold a certificate in Mental Health First Aid
As part of my work with Nant Conwy Rugby Club I am a member of their Dal-dy-Dir group; a pastoral group specifically established to break down the stigma of mental health amongst both members and the wider community that the club serves. We hold event evenings for various age groups to encourage open communication about mental health issues and to break down barriers amongst our younger or vulnerable members.
