Summary

I have several interests and hobbies that keep me busy. I really enjoy managing my time and organising my days. I really like going the gym and having PT sessions. I find this helps me keep fit and healthy and relaxing.

I really love to spend time with my family, we have a large family with young children and enjoy doing days out, looking after them.

I enjoy reading, baking, and cooking. I also have my job which I would say I really love and socialising with different people. I have recently completed my algebra level 3 it was hard work and took a lot dedication to complete but enjoyable as Maths is something I like to do. Having recently completed my GCSE's I have just started my A Levels at Formby High School.

I have have always had a passion and interest for maths and I am committed to learning and always giving everything 110% and I am a fast learner and like to be challenged with new things. Hence why I have been interested in becoming an actuary after hopefully doing a degree in Mathematics as what I have discovered about the job role so far has interested me and I hope to be able to experience what the job is truly like. I have researched many roles such as Architecture, Civil Engineering and Accountancy. But my heart keeps coming back to what I have read and learnt about actuary. I have had many careers conversations with teachers and advisors and feel with my own research I have a good knowledge about the role.

Skills

  • Teamwork -In Duke of Edinburgh (DOFE) I was on the practice run which consisted of finding our way from one place to another and sleeping over for two nights In my team of 5 we got lost and walked far off track We suddenly realised and in team worked out who had strengths in map reading and communicating We got the maps out and tried to find our location and where we had gone wrong I then called the DOFE leaders and communicated our current location where we thought we had gone wrong I then relayed our plan to get back on track They confirmed our thinking and my team who strengths in map reading led the way to get us back on track As a team and working out our strengths we worked together to find our way back to a main road and back on the route and this ensured we all passed
  • Communication- One time in my work at the restaurant, it was holidays and there was low staff on shift and a full restaurant both upstairs downstairs and outside had to speak to the floor staff and work out the floor plan and who would cover each area As the evening went and the kitchen got busier there was a delay on food I had customers in my area asking how long food would be so went to the kitchen team to find out timings Once I found out timings, I raised it with the wider team about the delays and try and work out how we could try and keep customers happy I communicated to my customers on the wait and apologised for the delay I also made sure I kept checking in with my customers and keep them updated I also checked in with the kitchen and bar staff to make sure we all are doing all we can to keep our high customer service standards We had some walk-in customers who I had to communicate how stretched we were and about the realistic time they would wait for food I had to calm down some irate customers, eventually all customers had food and drinks
  • Responsibility- I baby sat for my mums' friends' daughters aged 10 and 7 I had to look after them for the afternoon till early evening I asked the girls what they would like to do and suggested we take their dog for a walk I made sure they stayed safe crossing roads I then suggested we make cookies, so we went the shop and got all the ingredients we needed Getting the girls to help with what we needed and what to buy in the shop I then ensured that they washed hands and safely used the cooker I then made food for them and played some games before settling to watch a movie with some snacks I then settled the youngest to bed reading a story making sure she was ok and not missing her parents I then sat with the older daughter till the parents came home, the girls loved spending time with me and asked for me to look after them again
