Having had a lifelong dream of becoming an airline pilot, I am currently seeking the opportunity to pursue that by applying for MPL Cadetship. Since I left school I have wanted to pursue a career in Aviation, I have been successful in gaining a position as an Air Traffic Control Assistant at Sumburgh Airport.

I am a very passionate, motivated person looking to expand their skills and knowledge within the aviation industry. I am a hardworking, enthusiastic team worker, who always ensures the job in hand is completed to the highest standard and takes responsibility when required.

  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Receive, sort and file flight plans appropriately.
  • Provide assistance to controller in charge.
  • Liaise with relevant parties using appropriate communication channels.
  • Responsible for being on call during the night for air ambulance and rescue helicopter based at Sumburgh. Required to provide a FISO service to them.
  • Provided vital meteorological insight, disseminate the MET conditions at the airfield appropriately.
  • Recently organised an event to promote Aviation in Shetland to high school children, along side other companies we work closely with we made pupils aware of Jobs at Sumburgh Airport. We made an interactive session with different activities to engage pupils into the type of jobs you can do within aviation.
