  • I was involved on the creation of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform of the institution, aimed at the exposure of business components such as Web Services through the IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB) product on Z/OS and IBM DataPower appliances and aimed at registering and cataloguing of enterprise services through the IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository (WSRR) product.
  • I designed and implemented an application framework that supports the SOA platform for logging, context tracking, caching, security, error handling and creation of a security Custom SOAP Header that passes through IBM DataPower. The name of that framework Java Common Abstract Framework (JCAF). This framework integrates "natively" with the application extensions provided by the Java EE standards and by the IBM WebSphere Application Server product (security, caching, etc.) on both Z/OS and Windows environments.
    I was involved on the creation of the Tempi Certi solution, aimed at monitoring in real time the products issued and processed by the institution (Pension Applications, Income Support Services, CIG Applications, etc.). The solution is based on the use of IBM WebSphere Business Events and IBM WebSphere Business Monitor products. The first is the catalyst of events produced by the various platforms to be integrated, by applications operating on the Z/OS system (above all Pensions Area), as well as the provider of events in Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) format which act as input for IBM WebSphere Business Monitor, which aggregates CEI events and shows them in summary and detailed reports and statistics.
  • I made a proposal for the adoption of application architectural patterns in INPS, aimed at standardizing the development of Java EE application software. The patterns have been chosen from the IBM Pattern for E-Business catalogue.


Customer: CONSIP (Concessionaria Servizi Informativi Pubblici)

  • I was involved on the drafting of an application solution for the re-engineering of the Accounting and Financial System (SICEF) with particular emphasis on the part of integration with the pre-existing accounting information system (SICOGE).

  • I developed an architectural solution, based on the IBM WebSphere Portal Server product, which provides for the porting and refactoring of the current J2EE/Web solutions, operating on Application Server Bea WebLogic. The solution provides that the application functions are divided into presentation components, implemented in JSF Portlet technology (JSR-168 specification), and business and data access components, implemented in EJB 2.1 technology (stateless session beans). Furthermore, I designed a methodological process that formalizes and structures the software life cycle of all customer projects. This process involves the adoption of the IBM Rational Requisite Pro, IBM Rational Software Architect, IBM Rational ClearQuest products.


Customer: Poste Italiane


  • I developed a wide range integration architectural solution for the reengineering of a new software system (SDP - Software Delivery Platform) which must replace the current counter applications that Poste Italiane operators use, on the national territory, as front office and back office in post offices. The current solution foresees the use of various third-party frameworks (HP-NEXT, IBM Framework, IBM BRM) and foresees the integration of numerous technologies (Visual Basic/ODBC client side on MSDE or DB2 Everyplace databases, Visual C++/ODBC on MSDE or DB2 Everyplace database; J2EE server side (JSP, Servlets ,EJB ,J2C) on Application Server WebSphere v6.1 with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database (and later DB2 UDB Enterprise).J2EE technologies are conveyed by the above frameworks.


Customer: INAIL (Istituto Nazionale Assicurazione Infortuni sul Lavoro)


  • I was involved on the drafting of the technical/economic offer for the refactoring of a J2EE application (Sportello Unico Previdenziale) created by another software house and managed by Sistemi Informativi.
  • I was involved on the creation of a refactoring solution of a procedure written in mixed languages (NatStar, PL/SQL Oracle, COBOL-CICS DB2 for zOS) to be able to implement it in J2EE technology. The procedure is called GRAI (Accident Insurance Report Management).
  • I was involved on the creation of a solution for the management of multi-channel delivery of communications in electronic format (project name Posta Multicanale). The purpose of this system is to acquire communications input to be sent to various recipients; the system takes care of all the details not inherent to the content of the communication itself (finding the address, defining the format, carrying out the delivery on the appropriate channel, waiting for any return receipts). J2EE technologies involved: Web part (JSP + Struts), Business part (EJB Session, Entity Message-Driven) Integration part (JCA), Data part (DB2 for zOS).
  • I also played the role of Project Manager coordinating the work of 8 people.

    I was involved on the drafting of the technical/economic offer for the creation of the SSC web application (100,000 € for 126.5 days/u), twin of the SISCO web application of Compagnia Generale Trattori. The logical/physical architecture of the system is like that of Compagnia Generale Trattori, except for the legacy system, which in this case is an S/390 with CICS transactional monitor.The offer was assigned to Sistemi Informativi. I was also involved in the porting of the CGT application to MAIA, where I played the role of IT Architect who supported 2 colleagues who took care of the implementation.
