I became a Level 2 apprentice after finishing school and made my way through both my level 2 and 3 childcare qualifications within 2 years, earning a distinction grade in both levels. I worked hard as an apprentice to build my knowledge and skills so I am able to provide children with the best possible care. I was made a keyholder once qualified and work open to close shifts 4 times a week and pride myself on my punctuality. Below are some of the key skills i have developed during my time in childcare:

• Worked closely with colleagues to ensure smooth running of childcare setting, demonstrating teamwork skills.
• Promoted healthy eating habits amongst children by preparing nutritious meals and snacks.
• Developed strong relationships with parents, ensuring a cohesive approach to child care.
• Handled minor injuries or illnesses calmly and professionally whilst contacting parents promptly if required.
• Participated in a wide variety of training courses to enhance knowledge of child development and safeguarding practices aswell as healthy and safety courses and Paediatric first aid.
• Observed individual progress of each child under my care; shared observations during meetings with parents.
• Provided emotional support to children-fostering resilience and self-confidence aswell as being a source of comfort to maintain their wellbeing.
• Managed challenging behaviour in a calm, patient manner, promoting positive interactions between peers.
