Neil Vesey

Since leaving school, I have had a number of interesting jobs before my 35 year career in ventilation and dust control design, sales, installation and company management.

I have worked on a number of farms as a farmhand, contract tractor driver and general milking palour duties. I have spent around 18 months working offshore on a gas drilling rig in the North sea in the galley. I have been an agency FLT driver for a number of agencies which included loading and unloading lorries and have experience of working in a bonded warehouse.

I spent 8 years as a mechanic for a sidecar racing team in my spare time and traveled all over the country for this including the IOM TT in 2003 & 2004.

I have worked in the ventilation and dust control industry for the last 35 years as service engineer working my way up to company director. I have the ability to look at problems of various sorts and find a solution by thinking both inside and outside the box. I am no stracnger to working with my hands and and both hand and power tools and are happy to take on any sized project. As a site manager during installations of equipment, I feel that I have the ability to communicate with the personnel and sub contractors to bring the recent projects in on time and on budget. These communications have been both verbal and written. I am used to handling difficult and sometimes sensitive situations with both confidence, self assurance and dignity to ensure the correct outcome was achieved. I am quite adept and taking on new challenges and are willing to turn my hand to anything from cleaning to horticulture to escorting and assisting people on site. I have a NEBOSH certificate in safety and health and currently have the role of safety officer in our company. This involves preparing risk assessments, implementation of safe systems of work, keeping up to date with legislation and ensuring continued compliance.
