Professional Experience


Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the preparation of yearly financial statements, collaborating with external advisors to ensure the accuracy and representation of the strategic report, income statement, balance sheet, and supporting notes.
  • Act as the main point of contact with external auditors, ensuring timely responses to all requests.
  • Monitor, prepare, and file various ONS surveys as required.


UK and EU Tax Compliance

  • Manage UK and international tax reporting compliance for the group, covering UK and EU VAT, WHT, R&D tax credits, Corporation tax, payroll taxes, and CEST reviews.
  • Maintain the tax compliance register to ensure filing and payment deadlines are met.


Payroll

  • Review the monthly payroll for the UK entity, ensuring accuracy of all calculations.


Process Improvement and Systems Implementation

  • Streamline operations by playing a key role in the implementation and development of advanced ERP systems (Dynamics 365).
  • Suggest and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Review processes for repeat tasks, proactively identifying opportunities for standardisation, streamlining, and improvement.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations for all areas, implementing process improvements.


Asset Management

  • Maintain the fixed asset registers for the group, providing guidance on capital items, ensuring completeness, managing depreciation, and performing month-end reconciliations.


Transfer Pricing

  • Facilitate transfer pricing activities between international entities, liaising with external tax experts and setting the structure for the policy.
  • Calculate intercompany quarterly recharges in line with the transfer pricing policy.


R&D

  • Manage R&D tax credit calculations, working with key internal stakeholders to tailor supporting report write-ups and gather data for calculations.


Budgeting

  • Contribute to budget and forecasting, ensuring accuracy of inputs and summarising data into clear and concise reports.
  • Providing guidance to the FP&A and finance business partnering team to variances and obscure movements to aid the preparation of budget review meetings.


Team Collaboration and Development

  • Provide cross-training for the finance team, aiding in colleague training and development.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by encouraging open communication and teamwork within the finance department.
