Rig Design and Commissioning Project, Designed and assembled a water circulation and cooling rig with a heat exchanger., Produced P&IDs; planned piping layout, commissioning and start-up procedures., Conducted experiments, analyzed safety risks and integrated the system into larger plants., Aspen Process Simulation, Simulated production of ethylbenzene from ethylene and benzene using Aspen HYSYS., Analysed side reaction forming diethyl benzene and evaluated process optimisation strategies., Laboratory Modules, Conducted experiments on heat exchangers, distillation columns, fluidized beds and cooling towers., Applied theoretical principles to practical scenarios, enhancing understanding of chemical processes. For my final year project my teammates and I worked on the production of bio-isopropanol from sugarcane bagasse, using ABE fermentation and purifying acetone, butanol and ethanol. Acetone was then hydrogenated to produce isopropanol.
